From Tiny Acorns Grow Mighty Oaks

After Morning Prayer, during my meditation and reflection time, My thoughts were quite scattered as I sat and listened to the near constant rat-a-tat-tat of acorns falling on my roof (as well as the neighbor’s car and trash cans). It is fall here in the northern latitudes and this is a common background sound this time of year for this area. The sound of the acorn fall can at times be quite loud and shocking and it is hard to find peace of mind at times.

Then it occurred to me how fortunate we are that in God’s infinite wisdom and good will, God chose the tiny humble acorn, and not the coconut, from which to grow the mighty oak tree.

All things have their place in God’s creation and although we might be annoyed at times at things that are out of our control, it is well to remember that things could be much worse.

Learn to be at peace in whatever circumstances you find yourself, and you will learn to walk with God.
